Cleveland History Center Debuts Music Series in Its Garden

Thu 6/3 @ 6:30PM

A new series of outdoor summer concerts makes its debut this week, as the Cleveland History Center of the Western Reserve Historical Society offers “A Little Night Music: Jazz, Classical and More,” taking places Thursdays in June in the Hanna Courtyard Garden.

It kicks off with an evening featuring three of Cleveland’s top jazz musicians. Trumpet player Dominick Farinacci seems to be everywhere, strengthening his ties to his hometown while maintaining an international career. Percussionist Jamey Haddad, who has been in Paul Simon’s touring band for decades, returned home to northeast Ohio to teach at Oberlin after living in New York. Unlike Farinacci and Haddad, Cleveland natives who moved to New York, guitarist Dan Bruce moved to Cleveland several years ago after spending a decade as part of Chicago’s active jazz scene.

Doors open at 5pm; concert starts at 6:30. Food and drink will be available for purchase. Get tickets ($25, $20 for WRHS members) here.
