It’s disappointing that, for the second year, people are unable to gather in and around the historical St. John’s Episcopal Church in Ohio City for Station Hope, the annual exploration of social and racial justice through the lens of the arts. But, for the second year, the event’s organizer, Cleveland Public Theatre, is offering an online version to soften the blow.
They describe it as “a jubilant community event celebrating Cleveland’s social justice history and exploring contemporary struggles for freedom and equity” featuring music, dance, storytelling and theatrical presentations in which audience members can participate virtually.
Led by emcees Adelomo and Siaara Freeman, the event, called “A Virtual Celebration of Hope. A Dialogue for Change,” will feature performances/presentations by
Alexander Wright & the Collective; CPT 20/21 Premiere Fellow Ananias J. Dixon; Bodwin Theatre Company; Cleveland Classical Guitar Society; CPT’s Cleveland Act Now (CAN) Academy; CPT’s Cleveland Act Now (CAN) Theatre; CPT’s Student Theatre Enrichment Program (STEP); Dale Goode; Dayshawnda Ash; Djapo Cultural Arts Institute; Fostering Hope; Generation L.Y.G.H.T.; Inda Blatch-Geib; Inlet Dance Theatre; Josy Jones; Kenya R.
