The Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage is presenting an array of programming around its current exhibit, Notorious RBG: The Life and Times of Ruth Bader Ginsburg. And there’s certainly much in the career of the civil rights/social justice-minded late Supreme Court Justice to inspire programming.
The online program, “I Dissent: RBG & Employment Practices,” looks at Ginsburg’s advocacy for working people, whose rights were being increasingly weakened by a corporate-leaning court, leading Ginsburg to be a frequent dissenter from the majority. In this program, a group of social justice advocates/legal experts will talk about her dissenting opinions, with a focus on the cases of Ledbetter and Walmart. They include Cleveland Metroparks Chief Legal & Ethics Officer Rosalina M. Fini, co-founding partner of Giffen & Kaminski LLC Kerin Kaminski founder of the Sokol Law Firm Roni Sokol.
The event is open to all. It’s free for Maltz members, $10 for others. It also qualifies for Continuing Legal Education credit, for a $40 fee.To register for credit, email cle@clemetrobar.org. Register here.
