Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad Resumes Its Rides

Sat 5/1

Last year, the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad (CVSR) offered some limited, socially distanced rides. Now it’s reopening for the 2021 season and expanding the number of days it’s offering its rides through Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

Starting May 1 and throughout May, it will be running Friday-Sunday; starting in June it will run Wednesday-Sunday. Trains will leave from Akron’s North Side Depot, Rockside Depot in Independence, and Peninsula Depot and Boston Depot in Peninsula.

In addition to the regular scenic rides, CVSR will be offering the Cleveland Dinner and Event Train each Friday night starting May 7, leaving from the Rockside Station. Dinner on the Train will be offered every Friday, with special events such as Ales on Rails, beer tastings, Murder Mystery, Grape Escape wine tastings and other themed programs also available.

It will also offer the Explorer program to encourage participants to get off the train to explore the national park. Visitors can buy either a one-time or season pass to combine riding the train with biking, running, hiking or even kayaking.
