Akron’s Ballet Theatre of Ohio was founded 28 years ago by Christine Meneer, who had danced under the legendary Heinz Poll at Ohio Ballet.
The company is known for its full-length ballets such as Cinderella which it will perform live in three performances at the Akron Civic Theatre this week. So if your little girl is still moping about not being able to get dressed up to go see The Nutcracker as a Christmas treat, take her to see this one, with its story every child can easily follow.
Tickets are sold only in blocks of four to maintain social distancing but they’re not expensive ($20-$30 a piece). Sure, you can round up a handful of ballet-bedazzled kids! Temperatures will be taken and masks are required. Go here to buy tickets.
