The Edible Books Festival began as an international event in 2000, held by bookstores around the world on or near April 1. The events feature submission from artists, chefs and book lovers who come up with literary-themed creations made entirely from food.
Locally, Loganberry Books answered the challenge, and launched the local edition in 2004, inviting anyone in the community who had an idea to join in the fun, with their results judged in several categories by guests who then get to eat the “books.”
Last year, things changed at the last minute and the festival was virtual — photos of the “books” were posted online to be judged and eating, alas, was out of the question. Now the Edible Books Festival has become the next event to be virtual for the second year.
This year, it’ll take place on Loganberry Books’ Instagram account. Just share a photo of your book on IG with the tag #ediblebooks2021 and @loganberrybooks between noon on Fridsay April 2 and noon n Saturday April 3. They’ll share your book for their followers to vote on. If you don’t have Instagram , get in touch with them by Friday April 2 @ 11am and they’ll share you image.
The top three voter getters will get special “Loganberry prizes.” Learn more here.
