Guitarist/vocalist/composer Moises Borges may be a long-time Cleveland resident, but his music has never lost the flavor of his native Bahai, Brazil. And he shares that flavor regularly with Clevelanders at the many shows he performs of his Brazilian jazz, deeply rooted in his native country’s indigenous culture.
He plays both solo and with a band, and this Friday, when he performs for the Maltz Performing Arts Center’s streaming concert series, he’ll be backed by a band featuring Gary Aprile on electric bass, Dave Kasper on sax and flute, and Dylan Moffitt on drums and percussion. He’s in the process of recording an album of his original music (he’s known for his performances of music by Brazilian mastercompsoers as well) so perhaps he’ll share some of that at this concert. It’s free but of course donations are appreciated.
