Read a Favorite Passage from Her Work at Toni Morrison Day Event

Thu 2/18 @ 7PM

Late last year, Governor DeWine signed a bill, sponsored by northeast Ohio legislators Joe Miller and Stephanie Howse, declaring the February 18th birthday of legendary Lorain-born author Toni Morrison as Toni Morrison Day in Ohio. It recognized the influence and towering literary achievement of the author of such acclaimed works as The Bluest Eye, Beloved, Sula and Song of Solomon.

Literary Cleveland, Twelve Literary Arts, Lake Erie Ink and the Great Lakes African American Writers Conference have joined forces to honor Morrison, who died in 2019 at the age of 88. All admirers are invited to join the online event to read a short favorite passage from one of her works, or just join and listen. To register for the Zoom link, go here.
