Cleveland’s 2nd BorderLight Fringe Festival Is Looking for Diverse Submissions

Through Fri 3/5

It’s like the organizers of Cleveland’s BorderLight International Theatre + Fringe Festival had a crystal ball. Following the first annual festival in the summer of 2018, they assessed the time and resources it took to mount such a festival and announced in the fall that they would be a biennial instead of an annual, returning in 2021.  Well, there would’ve been no 2020 in any case!

But they’re ramping up now for their return to downtown Cleveland July 22-24 as an outdoor event. And they’re currently looking for submissions for the “fringe” part of the festival.

Here’s what they’re looking for: “shows that will work outdoor space/stages, also street theatre, storefront theatre, visual installation, also any work adapted for social distancing (e.g. drive in/drive up theatre) and/or delivered through a personal device for a single viewer/listener (interactive telephone theatre, zoom, soundscapes).”

This could include ensemble or solo performances, comedy, cabaret, busking, dance, site-specific installation, multi-media performances, circus acts, performance art, virtual experiences or anything else you can dream up.

It’s free to apply; submission deadline is Friday March 5. For more details and to apply go here.
