What’s on pretty much everybody’s mind right now? That’s right — when we can get vaccinated so this pandemic draws to a close, at last. And until recently, there’s been a lot of confusion, lack of information and conflicting stories, thanks to lack of any federal plan which left states and local governments fumbling for answers on their own.
That’s the timely topic of a virtual City Club forum this week when a group of experts shares information and answers questions on topics such as how distribution is being rolled out, where Ohio’s supply stands and when you can expect to be vaccinated. It’ll also look at why some people are refusing the vaccine, ranging from anti-vaxxer conspiracy theories to justified suspicion on the part of many Black people, and what’s being done to address that.
Panelists include commissioners of the Cuyahoga County Board of Health Terry Allen, executive director of the National Public Health Information Coalition Robert Jennings, and Dr. Sherrie Dixon Williams, Pulmonary, Sleep, and Critical Care Physician with MetroHealth System, and Associate Professor at Case Western Reserve University’s School of Medicine. Ideastream’s Marlene Harris-Taylor moderates.
