Not that there won’t be enough screenings of the sentimental 1946 film It’s a Wonderful Life to keep you busy from now until New Year’s Day. But if you like the story and want a change of pace, Western Reserve Playhouse is presenting a video performance of It’s a Wonderful Life: A Radio Play.
Despite the title it will be a virtual visual performance as well, streaming the weekend of December 18-20. Radio DJs will relate the story using sound effects as they play multiple characters before your eyes. Or don’t watch, and pretend it’s the old days when families gathered around the radio to listen to special broadcasts.
