Make a New Year’s Resolution With Squirrel at Downtown Kent Story Walk

Through Sun 1/31/21

Main Street Kent presented a Halloween story walk where a series of local downtown businesses a pages of a story in their windows and families could take a walk through town to read the whole story.

They’re doing it again, offering the Squirrel’s New Year’s Resolution Story Walk. Kids can take a walk with their parents and run from window to window, eagerly taking in the next page of this engaging picture book, written by Pat Miller and illustrated by Kathi Ember. It can stimulate a discussion about resolutions, how they can help you and how you can help yourself and others keep them. There’ll be opportunities to enjoy snacks and warm beverages during the walk as well. And participating businesses will be taking non-perishable food items for Kent Social Services in keeping with Squirrel’s resolution to “do something nice for someone every day.”

Start at Popped! At 138 E. Main Street. Maps will be available there or you can download one here. Also, each window will indicate where to go next.

Story walk will be in Kent windows through January 31. Walkers are invited to share their own resolutions in the online guest book.
