*BLANK CANVAS GOES LIVE AGAIN

After the success of last month’s show, Blank Canvas Theatre is again bringing theater back from the dead with a a no-contact, socially responsible, multimedia drive-in performance in the 78th Street Studios parking lot.

Night of the Living Theatre will feature actors dressed as iconic horror characters singing some of your favorite theatre and pop songs. Despite being in their cars, audience members are invited to dress up as well, and to bring along their Jack-o-lanterns.

The performance runs for 60 minutes with no intermission and it’s rated PG. The parking lot opens at 7:15pm and it’s first come/first served. Tickets are $40 per car. Go here to order them. They’ll a mail you a ticket to print and put in your window.

 

*PLAYWRIGHTS LOCAL & THE YOUNG PLAYWRIGHTS COLLECTIVE HOST READING

On Thursday October 29 @ 7pm, Playwrights Local, which provides opportunities for developing playwrights and works in development, and the Young Playwrights Collective, will hold a fee online reading of The Storm by Lakewood’s EJ Dahl.

According to the published synopsis, “Summer of 2004 at Youghiogheny Christian Camp, four counselors are settling in for a night away from their campers before an unexplained voice is heard over a walkie-talkie. As the night grows later, the storm grows heavier, dredging up what is buried within.

*CLEVELAND PUBLIC THEATRE OFFERS ONLINE PERFORMANCES

Cleveland Public Theatre has announced a series of upcoming virtual productions. Frankenstein’s Wake, created by Raymond Bobgan and Holly Holsinger, and performed by Holsinger, is described as a “twisted adaptation of Mary Shelley’s masterpiece revives a tour-de-force performance, first performed off-Broadway in 1997 by Cleveland’s own Theatre Labyrinth.”

It will be performed via Zoom October 30 and 31, November 8, 14 and 20 @ 7pm, and October 31 @ 10pm. Go here for tickets and more information.

On November 6, CPT will debut the digital version of …Or Does It Explode, featuring Austin Sasser, Benjamin Black, De Andre Hairston-Karim, & Dar’Jon Bentley. The performance uses poetry, dance, and other contemporary theater forms to explore questions of what it means to be Black, male, and young in the 21st century. Performances are November 6, 7, 12, 13, 19 and 21 @ 7pm

*THE MUSICAL THEATER PROJECT PRESENTS CONCERT ON DEMAND

From November 5-8 The Musical Theater Project will present a cabaret concert-on-demand called Sing Me a Story.  Featuring Ursula Cataan, Eric Fancher, Nancy Maier and Bill Rudman, it will highlight songs that are funny, charming and downright touching.
