Masonic Temple Continues Its Classic Film Series with Three Films

Fri 9/16 @ 6PM

Sat 6/17 @ 7 & 9PM

The Cleveland Masonic Temple is offering a chance for movie lovers to see some classic films inside one of the area’s beautiful historic auditoriums, with plenty of room for social distancing.

Next up on the schedule is a double bill of very different films related to pop culture. Almost Famous(2000) was written and directed by Cameron Crowe, based on his experiences as a teenage writer forRolling Stone. It starred Kate Hudson as an improbably wispy groupie (no one ever got backstage being that unaggressive!), and revealed the deeply rooted misogyny of the rock music world in several striking scenes. Its 6pm screening on Friday October 16 will be followed by Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure(1985), a humorous adventure film built around the satirical cult figure Pee-Wee Herman (Paul Reubens).

On Saturday October 17, the Masonic will host two screenings of the 2004 movie version of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s massively successful Broadway musical Phantom of the Opera.

Tickets for each screening are $10, with a limited number sold so parties can be spaced six feet apart. Masks are required except when eating or drinking (concessions will be available). Doors open at 5pm. Purchase tickets here.
