Tue 10/27 @ 6-8:30PM
One of the major missions of Bike Cleveland is to make cycling safer and more appealing to a wider range of potential riders. Much of its work is done through advocacy for safer streets and through education of both cyclists and those who encounter them.
One of its programs is called Random Acts of Brightness. Since 2012, Bike Cleveland’s volunteers have been giving away hundreds of free bike lights each year through this initiative.
On Tuesday October 27, Bike Cleveland will be doing a pair of pop-up events, one downtown on Public Square and one in Uptown at Toby’s Plaza. There they will flag down cyclists who don’t have lights and will install front and rear light sets on their bikes — on the spot. For free! They also offer the opportunity for volunteers to take a supply of lights and go out to distribute them by bike; learn more at their website. Staff and volunteers will be wearing masks!
If you want free lights, you must have your bike so they can be installed immediately.
