Former Clevelander Kati Spotz has rowed solo across the Atlantic Ocean, the youngest person ever to do that. She swam the entire length of the Allegheny River, the first person to ever do that. And to prepare for her latest challenge, she ran 62 non-stop miles across New Hampshire and 74 non-stop miles across Vermont.
Over Labor Day weekend 2020, while many of us were relaxing or catching up on projects, Katie ran non-stop 130 miles across the state of Maine. She started running from the Canada border and ended with a jump in the Atlantic Ocean, the first person to ever complete that challenge.
And she does it all to raise money for clean water in Africa, though the charity Lifewater International.
CoolCleveland interviewed Katie just a couple weeks ago as she was training for her latest achievement. View the video here.
Now you can share in her victory, and her passion for water. View her Maine PHOTOSTREAM here.
