You may remember the Common Ground community conversations, hosted by the Cleveland Foundation, where various organizations, businesses, neighbor groups and others convened informal conversation groups around various civic topics, enabling people to hear from and talk to others in the community.
There’s not so much of that going on now, but if you think you can stand anther Zoom meeting, the Nature Center at Shaker Lakes is hosting a Common Ground discussion to explore the topic of equitable access to nature, something the recent open of its ADA-accessible All People’s Trail was designed to promote. It’s also looking at ways to make Black people and other minorities feel safe from harassment and discrimination in nature setting.
“Bring your ideas, experiences and aspirations to share with the group as we discuss the barriers and opportunities that exist for each of us to be ‘counted’ amongst the hikers, naturalists, scientists, adventurers or decision makers who enjoy and impact the environment around us.” they say.
It’s free but registration is required. Go here.
