Through Tue 10/6
As with most community events, Lakewood’s Halloween-themed Spooky Pooch Parade won’t be happening this year as a live, in-person event.
Instead the 14th annual Virtual Spooky Pooch Parade will give area dog owners the chance to dress up their dog and show him/her off in a different way. Instead, they’re invited to submit their best dog photos for consideration for a wall calendar. Twelve dogs will be picked — one or each month — and a grand prize winner will be chosen by public voting.
Registration is open through Tuesday October 6, with winners announced on October 17, which would have been the parade date, at a virtual event. From October 13-16, the public can vote on their favorites by liking them in the Facebook album or commenting on Instagram. The winner will be Mr. or Ms. October and get a year’s supply of free dog food from Pet’s General Store.
The fee for each entry is $25, and each entrant will get a copy of the calendar; they’ll also be available for purchase. All money raised benefits community development nonprofit LakewoodAlive. Go here to enter your dog.
