Chagrin Arts was originally intending to present a modern version of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night — translated into modern English by playwright Alison Carey — this summer in Solon Community Park.
Alas, the pandemic put an end to that plan — but the show must go on, and indeed it is. Chagrin Arts and the city of Solon will offer a virtual film production of the show at Solon Community Park on Friday September 4 and Sunday September 6.
The show, directed by Delaney Hagy and Tyler Collins using Zoom technology for rehearsals and filming, features eight area professional actors. It will be shown on a seventeen-foot LED screen.
There will be pre-drawn, socially distanced circles in the ballpark that can seat up to six people on lawn chairs or blankets. Masks are required. There will be food trucks and picnics are welcome. The shows are free, although the Chagrin Arts and the cast and crew are raising awareness of the Ohio Innocence Program (OIP), which works to exonerate those who have been wrongly incarcerated.
