Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose has been at the center of a lot of confusion and controversy about the upcoming election, not all of it his fault.
As the state official designated with overseeing elections, LaRose pushed for providing postage on ballot applications and ballots, something the federal government had allocated money for, only to be overruled by the legislature. On the other hand, he is battling to limit counties to only one ballot drop-off location, no matter their size, claiming the law prevents him from allowing more, which it doesn’t. A judge has overruled him and he’s still fighting this common-sense measure.
So you may want to tune in when the Akron Roundtable presents a live virtual forum featuring LaRose called “Making Ohio Ready for November.” His bio says, “In his role as Ohio’s chief elections officer, he’s working to ensure Ohio’s elections are secure, accessible and accurate.” Tune in and judge for yourself. The one-hour forum is free and open to all; no registration is required. Go here to listen.
