Jonathan Hale, on whose land Hale Farm & Village in Bath is bow located, arrived in Ohio in 1810 to settle on the land where his family lived for the next 150 years.

In 1956 his great granddaughter bequeathed the family’s farm to the Western Reserve Historical Society to be a living tribute to life as it was lived in 19th-century Ohio. It stands as such today, with its reconstructed village featuring 32 buildings with costumed guides and demonstrators showing visitors the various crafts and skills that supported life in that era, including pre-modern farming techniques (no tractors, just oxen!)

Hale Farm has now reopened to the public after being closed throughout its spring season, and will be open Thursday-Saturday 10am-4pm through the end of August.

There will be daily demonstrations and many of the buildings will be open for self-guided tours. If you’d rather stay outside, you can walk the grounds, the nature trails and gardens and enjoy the natural beauty of the area.

Tickets must be purchased in advance at www.halefarm.org.
