Dancing Wheels Previews Its Postponed Premiere Online

Fri 8/21 & Sat 8/22

Cleveland-based ensemble Dancing Wheels was set to premiere its version of A Midsummer Night’s Dream this summer at Cain Park. Alas, the entire Cain Park schedule was wiped from the calendar, and the work will debut in 2021.

Instead, the company is doing a special event for supporters, based on the choreography by Dancing Wheels’ Catherine Meredith, which sets the Shakespeare comedy on DW’s mix of stand-up and sit-down dancers. The company members will perform excerpts from the piece at various garden sites around Cleveland, narrated by storyteller Sara Lawrence-Sucato. Yo can watch on your computer or smart phone.

In addition, you can add a Midsummer Night’s Dream picnic to be delivered to your door if you live in Cuyahoga or adjacent counties. It includes a charcuterie and cheese selection, buts and dried fruits, a baguette and a bottle of Prosecco, servig up to four people.
