Artist-Designed Masks on View in Downtown Akron Storefronts

Through Fri 9/25

While a very loud minority has jeopardized public health by making a political issue out of wearing masks, artists have seized on the chance to look at masks as a creative opportunity, something they’ve long been anyway.

Akron’s Curated Storefront artists to submit their ideas for masks, for the Mask-R-Aid project, and 102 did so, mostly from northeast Ohio but some from across the U.S. and even other countries. Of those, 38 were chosen by Curated Storefront’s curatorial committee. They’re now on display in the storefront at the Polsky Building in downtown Akron as well as online. All masks are available for purchase, with 50% going to the artist.

The masks will be on display through September 25.
