Two Acoustic Acts Bring Music Back to Waterloo’s Tower Stage

Fri 7/3 @ 7-9PM

Because of the spike in COVID-19 infections, this show has been postponed to July 17, and will be streaming only.

There’ll be live music again this Friday in the Waterloo Arts District as Cleveland Rocks: Past, Present and Future presents another outdoor concert at the Tower stage on the corner of Waterloo and East 156th Street

The free show features the Smeltztones, starring Dave Smeltz, the godfather of the Cleveland scene. In 1978, he founded I-Tal, the first area reggae band to take the music outside the local Jamaican community into the rock scene. Following his recovery from drug use in 2001, he devoted himself to helping others on the same path with his Clean House project and eventually started performing again. He’s be playing with two local veteran musicians, vocalist Eva Dilcue and percussionist Chris DiSantis.

The duo of Shawn and Shelby will open, featuring guitarist Shawn Brewster and cellist Shelby Lynn Sangdahl, and both sharing vocals on their original tunes and distinctive arrangements of familiar songs.
