Back in the U.S.S.R. Revisited in the Vanity Crash Pad

Sun 6/14 7PM

The lead-off song on The Beatles’ White Album, written by Paul McCartney as a parody of Chuck Berry’s Back in the U.S.A., and copping the harmony vocals of The Beach Boys, is covered by Vanity Crash in their upcoming Vanity Crash Pad this Sun 6/14 at 7PM on Zoom and FB Live. Fans and followers are invited to join on the Zoom call to participate with the band, or on Facebook Live to observe.

Every other Sunday, Cleveland’s favorite glam punk band hosts the Vanity Crash Pad, a half hour exploration of music and culture culminating in the release of another video from their upcoming DVD, Live n’ Shakin’, which can be pre-ordered here.

This week’s track is Back in the U.S.S.R., the first track on The Beatles’ eponymous LP, generally known as The White Album. The band will discuss the background and history of the track, then premiere the video of Back in the U.S.S.R. to close out the Crash Pad.

Along the way, the band chooses a different topic each show to bandy about. This week’s topic will be, “If you could have dinner with anyone at all, living or not, who would it be?” Those tuned in on Zoom will also have an opportunity to answer the question of the week. Join on Facebook Live if you just want to watch and comment.
