UPDATE:

Cleveland Classical Guitar Society regrets to inform its patrons that Berta Rojas in Concert on Saturday, March 14 has been canceled. Due to heightened travel precautions, as well as the latest recommendations from Governor Mike DeWine and medical experts, it has been determined that it is not in the best interests of our audience or guest artist to proceed with the concert as scheduled. The health and well-being of our audience, performers, and staff are of top concern. This is not a decision that has been made lightly, but the health risks to the community outweigh the negative financial impact of canceling the concert.
We are currently exploring the viability of rescheduling the performance. Although this process is ongoing, we wanted to let you know about this weekend’s performance as soon as possible. Information regarding ticket exchange, refund, or donation will be forthcoming.
Please visit cleguitar.org or contact Cleveland Classical Guitar Society at info@cleguitar.org or 216-905-9348 for updates, more information, or concerns.

Sat 3/14 @ 7:30PM

Paraguayan classical guitarist Berta Rojas has been building an international career for three decades. In that time, she’s garnered several Grammy nominations, been named a Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts Fellow of the Americas, and released more than a dozen albums. She’s constantly on the road, performing concerts and holding masterclasses, performing a wide range of music including music from her native country and other South American countries.

That’s why it’s surprising she’s just now making her Cleveland debut at the age of 53. She’ll be performing at Plymouth Church UCC under the auspices of the Cleveland Classical Guitar Society where her program will include music by Spanish composer Federico Moreno Torroba, Brazilian composer Heitor Villa-Lobos and British composer Lennox Berkeley, all of whom worked in the early-mid 20th century. The entire post-intermission part of her program will be devoted to works by Paraguayan virtuoso classical guitarist/composer. Barrios Mangore (1885-1944).

General admission tickets are $22; gold circle tickets are $40. Seniors are $18 and students are $10.
