Explore the Outer Limits of Sound With Two Local Bands at the BOP STOP

Wed 3/4 @ 7PM

Come on out to the BOP STOP to hear a pair of northeast Ohio bands offer their own takes on jazz.

The Open Spaces Trio features two musicians who have backed/performed with a lot of area bands and musicians: bassist Matt DeRubertis and drummer Holbrook Riles III. They’re joined in this configuration by up-and-coming guitarist Brent Hamker. Together they play what’s described as “a diverse repertoire of jazz, Americana, rock, folk, and other styles of tunes,” which they take and reshape in their own fashion

Oregon Space Trail of Jazz, who also perform in an entirely different identity as Oregon Space Trail of Doom, will be more familiar to area audiences. Guitarists Nolan Cavano and Ryan Fletterick, bassist Nicholas Yanosko and drummer Tony Kazel have been working the scene diligently for around two years, playing their open-ended music in both their heaver and lighter-touch identities. Their bio says, “Drifting on the light waves of ghost stars, these cosmic cowboys have but one intention: to create a musical score for the impending interstellar apocalypse.”

It’ll cost you $12 to stop by the BOP STOP to hear if they live up to that.
