The Rock Hall closes Black History Month by kicking off its spring film series. And it does so by featuring a documentary about one of rock & roll’s root figures who influenced basically everyone: Chuck Berry.
The new film Chuck Berry reveals the stories behind this seminal musician who died in 2017, with interviews with his wife of 68 years, as well as his children and others close to him, offering a nuanced picture of a musician who was nearly as famous for his difficult demanding business and performance practices as for the riffs that fueled one of the 20th-century’s most dominant music genres.
Tickets are $10, free for museum members. Wine, beer and snacks are available for purchase during film screenings. Upcoming films will feature such musicians as the Cure, ZZ Top, John Lennon & Yoko Ono, Miles Davis and Linda Ronstadt.
