Learn to ID Leafless Trees on Lower Shaker Lakes Hike

Sat 2/8 @ 2-4PM

It’ll make you feel like you’re back in scouts again!

Doan Brook Watershed Partnership is hosting a Winter Tree Identification Hike to explore ways to identity common species of northeast Ohio trees without the dead giveaway of their distinctive leaves. Learn how to tell an oak from a maple from a honey locust by other means when the trees have lost their leaves on a walk around Lower Shaker Lake with Dr. Ted Auch.

In addition to identifying various trees and shrubs commonly found in this area, Dr. Auch will share why these trees grow where they do and what their role is managing storm water and mitigating pollution.

The walk takes off from the western end of Lower Shaker Lake. A $10 free will be collected there, cash or check. Advance registration is required. Go here
