The Beijing Guitar Duo features two young women, Meng Su and Yameng Wang, who are actually from Qingdao, more than seven hours from Beijing. Both began their international performance careers in their early teens, prior to forming the duo. Now they perform all over the world with orchestras and in chamber concerts, often with other musicians, and give master classes at major conservatories.
They will be the guests of the Cleveland Classical Guitar Society when they perform at Plymouth Church UCC in Shaker Heights. There they’ll play music by J.S.Bach, Claude Debussy, Tan Dun, Astor Piazzolla, and Chen Yi.
Tickets are $22, $18 for seniors, $10 for students.
