Benefit Boosts Motorcycle Maintenance Classes for Teens

Skidmark CLE has been operating for several years in the Hamilton Collaborative as a DIY garage for motorcyclists, where they can come to work on their bikes, use tools and equipment, and get advice from experts and other cyclists.

In 2018, it launched a program called Motogo, using motorcycle maintenance to teach problem-solving skills to kids and teens. Original a mobile class, it now offers shop classes at various area schools as well as such institutions as the Cleveland Public Library and University Settlement, engaging nearly 300 students in the last school year.

To grow the program, Skidmark CLE is hosting a benefit called Bringin’ Back Shop Class, taking place at the LaSalle Theatre in North Collinwood. The $100 ticket includes food and drink, chance raffles, Motogo shopping stations, live music and interactive demonstrations showing what Skidmark Garage does.
