Connect with Cuyahoga Valley National Park at Volunteer Open House

Sat 1/11 @ 10AM-noon

If you’re looking to connect with nature and do something to preserve and protect it, Cuyahoga Valley National Park, the 33,000 acre park located between Akron and Cleveland, has a whole gamut of opportunities for volunteers, whether you are rugged or a couch potato, whether you are outdoorsy or not, whether you have a little time or a lot to give, whether your talents run to working with your hands, interacting with other people, performing, selling, gardening, cycling, or working with kids or dogs, the sheer variety of potential roles is vast.

You can go out with rangers to work on trail maintenance or work in the fields and forest on invasive plant management — or you can stay comfortable ensconced in the Trail Mix shop, helping retail staff, greeting visitors and offering information about the park.

Roles are as diverse as acting in programs about Cuyahoga Valley’s history, serving on the Mountain Bike Trail Patrol, assisting at the Countryside Farmers Market in a variety of jobs, serving on the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad, working special events and joining the Paw Patrol to guide visitors in helping their dogs enjoy the park offerings alongside them.

Learn about these and many more opportunities at a volunteer open house Sat 1/11 at Happy Days Lodge in Peninsula. Contact the CVNP volunteer office at volunteer@forcvnp.org or 440-717-3846 for more information.
