Christopher Reynolds has been part of the area music scene for many years, putting out numerous CDs, first with acoustic folk group Those Guys and then under the name Christopher.
In 2014 he retired from his long-time “day job,” teaching French at Berea-Midpark High School, while continuing to explore performance concepts which have in the past focused of creativity and spirituality. As he puts it, “My mission is to sing the dream of Peace on Earth onward through empowering as many as possible to share in the Third Great Awakening now occurring in the United States.”
His upcoming performance at the Unity Spiritual Center of Westlake is very much in that vein. Reynolds and friends will perform “an evening of songs, stories and ritual,” remember the 1914 Christmas Truce when WW I forces on both sides left the trenches to sing “Silent Night” simultaneously in their various languages. It will feature an ancient Winter Solstice ceremony honoring the sacred feminine and healing waters, held at the site of France’s Chartres Cathedral.
He says, “In this year, 2019, we will remember and proclaim the same desire for world peace. You are invited to sing, to pray, and to let go of grief and anxiety. We do this on the darkest day of the year, the Winter Solstice, in expectation of new life, light and peace that is the reason for the season.”
