Despite predictions of bad weather and a brief shower, the turnout for Dia de Muertos — Day of the Dead — at Gordon Square was strong, and many of the attendees got into the spirit of things, sporting fancy dress and makeup (face painters were on head to take care of both adults and kids who hadn’t come already made up). Outdoor memorial altars and more elaborate ones inside Cleveland Public Theatre’s Church building engaged visitors, as did nonstop live music and vendors in CPT’s Parish Hall. And the mid-afternoon process featured not only the promised skeletons and skulls but stilt walkers, winged creatures and more.
