Bringing to a close the dance festival ADF in CLE, hosted by DANCECleveland is a return visit by Cuban ensemble Malpaso Dance Company, with two performances at the Allen Theatre.
The young company, founded in 2012, draws from the history of modern dance and the work of groundbreaking contemporary choreographers. One of the works it will present in Cleveland, Face the Torrent by NYC choreographer Sonya Tayeh, was partly created during the company’s 2017 residency in Claveland; now local dance fans will have the chance to see the finished work.
The other works on their program are Tabula Rasa, by Israeli choreographer Ohad Nahrain, who worked with the dancers in Cuba last year to restage this older work, and Being (Ser) by company member Beatriz Garcia.
