Country Music, Classic Rock & Cars Crashing Into Each Other Star @ Lorain County Fair

Mon 8/19-Sun 8/25

As county fairs sweep through Ohio this month like a forest fire, it’s now Lorain’s turn, as the county mounts its174th annual fair, one of the oldest and largest fairs in the state, taking place at the fairgrounds in Wellington.

For seven whole days, you can enjoy all the typical fair stuff: the animals, the rides, the country music and cover bands, the food you wouldn’t want to eat on a regular basis. You can catch country singer Granger Smith Mon 8/19 and 70s/80s rockers Foreigner Tue 8/20 in the grandstand. On Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the grandstand will be the site of motor sports events, such as truck pulls and of course the inevitable Demolition Derby, ending the fair with a big band, so to speak, on Sunday. (More cars must be destroyed at county fairs than anywhere else on earth).

Admission at the gate is $5; an additional ticket is needed for grandstand events.
