It’s a big month for celebrating the vinyl explosion in Cleveland. As we related in one of our features, vinyl record emporium, Blue Arrow Records on Waterloo, is celebrating its tenth anniversary.
So is Gotta Groove, the vinyl record pressing plant located in AsiaTown in the Tyler Village complex. That’s wwhen retired plastics manufacturer Vince Slusarz took his savings and bought equipment from a New Jersey company that went out of business. He shipped it back to Cleveland and set it up in a former factory space in Asiatown. He found himelf running one of a handful of the remaining vinyl manufacturers just as demand for vinyl was growing. The company presses records and designs and prints packaging for artists across the country.
