Two Poets Will Read at Market Garden Brewery @ Brews + Prose

Tue 8/6 @ 7PM

Brews + Prose, the monthly literary reading event taking place at Ohio City’s Market Garden Brewery, doesn’t take the summer off. Last month it celebrated its 7th anniversary and held a pre-reading benefit party that reached its fundraising goal.

This month it presents a pair of poets, Ruth Awad and James Arthur. Columbus-based Awad, a Lebanese-American writer, released her first poetry collection whose debut poetry collection Set to Music a Wildfire in 2017 and has won numerous awards. Canadian-American James Arthur recently released The Suicide’s Son, following up his 2012 Charms Against Lightning. His work has appeared in such publications as The New YorkerThe New York Review of BooksThe New Republic, and The London Review of Books. He’s won a boatload of fellowships and scholarships and currently teaches at John Hopkins University, located in the “rat-infested hellhole” of Baltimore.

The evening is free; beer and food are available for purchase.
