Recently an old building on West 25th, adjacent to the Ohio City Farm, which had been used as a storage facility, was transformed into the Riverview Welcome Center. With copious wall space, it’s ideal for use as an art gallery.
It made its debut as a gallery during the June Xtinguish/Cleveland 50 celebration of the 50th anniversary of the last Cuyahoga River fire. That’s when it opened a show called Bridged, sponsored by the Cleveland Print Room. It features the work of native Clevelander Sophie Schwartz, exploring the Cuyahoga River through the lens of its bridges, combining her own look at those bridges with archival images of the river’s bridges.
The show will host a closing reception this week for those who’d like to take a final look at the work. It’s free and open to all.
