Wed 6/26
For 15 years, there’s been a big party on University Circle’s Wade Oval, located between the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Cleveland Museum of Natural History and the Cleveland Botanical Garden, every Wednesday all summer long. There’s food, drink, games, information booths and live music, plus plenty of lawn for spreading out and relaxing and plenty of space for dancing.
The season’s two biggest draws come on the last Wade Oval Wednesday before July 4, which this year took place June 26: Carlos Jones & the P.L.U.S. Band with their message of peace, love and unity, and that reliable Cleveland attraction: fireworks. An added attraction was an ensemble of students from the Mary Bethune School, performing choreographed moves to Childish Gambino’s “This Is America.”
As usual, there was a record-setting crowd, on a perfect summer night.
