PHOTOSTREAM: City Stages With Tal National By Anastasia Pantsios

07.10.2019 City Stages with Tal National

Wed 7/10

The City Stages (formerly Ohio City Stages) series of global music concerts, taking place at the intersection of W. 29th and Church, brings in bands from all over the world. Niger’s Tal National kicked things off with a set that blended electric rock, reggae and Afrobeat with blazing energy that fueled dancing, arm waving and more.

The free concerts are also community gatherings, featuring food and drink in the parking lot of the Transformer Station (which is open late for those who want to go inside and check out the latest show or enjoy the air conditioning), lots of lawn space to spread out a blanket and plenty of room in the closed-off street to set up a lawn chair. The Cleveland Museum of Art’s Go Mobile Studio offers hands-on art projects to amuse kids and adults alike — and your dog is welcome to enjoy the fun as well.

There are two more concerts in the series: Belize’s Garifuna Collection Wed 7/24 and Mali’s BKO on Wed 7/31.
