The Lakewood Summer Meltdown, sponsored by Melt Bar and Grilled, which got its start in restaurant-heavy Lakewood, returns for the 10th year. The huge celebration of food and community attractions more than 10,000 people to this street party on Detroit between Marlowe and Arthur in downtown Lakewood.
Food from an array of vendors is the big attraction, but it’s far from the only one. There’s a beer garden, live music by Front Porch Lights, games, exercise demonstrations, a skateboard park, the popular “Water Moose” sprinkler, and even the Meltdown 5K and 1 Mile Family Fun Run and Walk — as they’re promoting it, the rare chance to participate in such races in the evening, instead of having to get up for that awful 7am registration.
It’s free and open to all.
