The Cleveland Cinemas summer Rock Doc series continues with a pair of films appealing to very different audiences.
On Wed 7/17, the newly released film Between Me and My Mind explores the creative process of the man some view as the carrier of Jerry Garcia’s torch, guitarist/vocalist Trey Anastasio, who co-founded Phish, the granddaddies among still-extant jam bands, back in 1983. Admission is $12.50.
On Wed 7/24, the film is an oldie but goodie: the 1983 Talking Heads concert film Stop Making Sense, which has earned more adulatory praise than almost any other concert film. Directed by Jonathan Demme, it’s really a very straightforward concert film, so you’ve got to love Talking Heads’s unique sound and presentation to really love it. Admission is $9.75.
Both films screen at the Capitol Theatre in Gordon Square.
