Great Lakes’ Burning River Fest Has a Special Meaning This Year

Fri 6/21 & Sat 6/22 @ 6-11PM

Great Lakes Brewing Co. has a particularly festive Burning River Festival this year, celebrating along with the entire city in the 50th anniversary of the (last) Cuyahoga River fire. In benefit of the nonprofit Burning River Foundation, the fest combines local music with Cleveland’s best beers. Since its beginning, the event has raised over $750,000 for initiatives that protect our freshwater resources — funds from this year’s fest will benefit environmental education at the historic Coast Guard Station.

A diverse group of genres will be taking to the two stages on Friday (6/21) and Saturday (6/22) at Cleveland’s historic former United States Coast Guard Station located near Wendy Park in Cleveland Metroparks Lakefront Reservation. A silent disco will rotate sets between local beat-makers DJ Red I, Candi Fresca and DJ MIMO all weekend.

Friday night brings energetic rock grooves of Nashville-based Arlie to the Great Lakes stage, followed by the indie-rock/cosmic country styles of Angela Perley. The rest of the night brings Uptowne Buddha, Ray Flanagan & the Authorities, Muamin Collective, Jul Big Green, M. Moody, Samfox, Luca Mundaca, and Apostle Jones.

Cloud Nothings will headline the stage on Saturday night, along with the the following lineup: FreshProduce, Falling Stars, Daddy Longleg’s Homegrown Revival, Chardon Polka Band, Maddie Finn, Austin’ Walkin’ Cane, Kid Tigrrr, The Chestertons, and David Smeltz.

Now the drinks: refreshing music-themed Turntable Pils, brand new citrus-forward Great Lakes IPA, small batch release Mexican Lager with Lime, and a Burning River Fest exclusive Citrus Burning River Pale Ale. The Great Lakes beers will be complemented by a selection of wines, and a mix of eats from local food trucks.

Tickets are $15 for a single-day and can be purchased here.
