Akron’s Rock the Docks Is a Four-Day Festival of Traditional Summer Fun

Thu 6/27-Sun 6/30

It’s the 12th year for Akron’s Rock the Docks celebration, taking place at Springfield Lake. And it jams a lot into its three days: everything northeast Ohioans love about summer festivals.

So there’s lots of live music and fair food, carnival rides and games, a petting zoo, a magi show, ice-cream making, wing-eating contest, Outback Ray, kids’ activities such as face painting, crafts and a princess tea party Friday @ 6pm, and yes, of course: fireworks. It’s a law or something. They happen at dusk on Saturday. There are even free pontoon boat rides on the lake Saturday and Sunday.

Ride wristbands range from $10-$25, depending on day and how long you want to ride, or 20 for $24. Rides shut down if it rains, although the festival is rain or shine.
