Wed 4/24-Sun 4/28
The maple sap’s been tapped and now it’s time to celebrate that good local syrup at the long-running (90th annual!) Geauga County Maple Festival. The event, taking place on the Chardon square, is five days of activities, kicking off Wednesday evening with the Geauga County Maple Festival Queen pageant @ 7pm at the Geauga Lyric Theater.
The festival itself opens Thu 4/25 @ noon, when the concessions open; rides open @ 4pm. The next three days you can get pancakes in the park from 8am-2pm — gotta have something to put that maple syrup on — with rides and concessions, live entertainment, an arts & crafts show on Saturday and Sunday, the grand parades and introduction of the queen & dignitaries at 3pm Saturday and Sunday, and such special activities as a kiddie tractor pull, a pizza-eating contest, a beard & mustache contest, bathtub races and much more.
The festival is free; ride wristbands are additional.
