Thu 3/14 & Fri 3/15 @ 7PM
Cleveland Public Theater, in partnership with the CMSD Thomas Jefferson International Newcomers Academy, will be featuring a unique and original theater performance that celebrates the diversity Cleveland holds.
The Global Teen Performance Project is an afterschool program that connects teaching artists from the Cleveland Public Library, and teachers within Thomas Jefferson, with students who want to express them through theater.
“Found in Flight” works to find common ground and understanding while also acknowledging and appreciating the differences we have. Drawing from the real experiences of 11 teenagers from seven different countries, the story reflects the anxiety of traveling to an unfamiliar place and the unlikely community found in it. The story takes place in an airport, where lost and delayed young travelers unexpectedly meet and quickly find friendship and empathy.
Every year, the program focuses on storytelling and representing the many cultures that the Academy holds. CPT artists, Academy staff, and students dedicated many hours to bringing the show to life.
This is a free event, with a $5 suggested donation, taking place Thu 3/14 and Fri 3/15 @ 7pm in the CPT James Levin Theater.
