With news that the Plain Dealer intends to outsource production jobs such as design and copy editing to an out-of-town shop and the PD Guild’s contract expiring this month, portending more layoffs, guild members gathered some of Northeast Ohio’s top musicians to perform at the Beachland Ballroom for a “Concert for Truth,” with proceeds benefiting the guild’s efforts to fight back.
Performers included Ray Flanagan, Brent Kirby, Charlie Mosbrook, Diana Chittester, Afi Scruggs, Leonardo DiCosimo, Rachel Brown, Michael Stanley and Jennifer Lee, and Alex Bevan, with a grand finale by the entire crew that found event organizer/PD music writer Chuck Yarborough taking a seat at the drums
