Galentine’s day is a tradition meant to recognize and appreciate of those uplifting female friendships and relationships we have during this lovey-dovey time of year. First coined in the television show Parks and Recreation, it is now cause for countless creative festivities around the world .
On Wed 2/13 @ 6-9pm, Fear’s Confections — a locally owned sweets shop in Lakewood — will be hosting a Blind Date With a Book. $10 tickets include a brownie or hot drink from Fear’s Confections as well as a surprise book from the Reading Room Cle. Launched just in 2018, the Reading Room is a nonprofit bookstore uses revenue from re-sold books to fund afterschool tutoring programs that promote literacy throughout Greater Cleveland.
Bring a gal pal or make a new one there. As Leslie Knope explains it, “Every February 13, my ladyfriends and I leave our husbands and our boyfriends at home, and we just come and kick it, breakfast-style. Ladies celebrating ladies. It’s like Lilith Fair, minus the angst. Plus frittatas.”
