Dr. Brian Monahan’s book, The Shock of the News, Media Coverage and the Making of 9/11, examines how the changing media landscape challenges our understanding of the world we live in. Monahan teaches at Baldwin Wallace University in the BW Sociology and Criminal Justice Departments.
Using his book as a starting point, BW choreographers MaryPat Dorr, Breanna Pacek, Mawusi Nenone and Sara Whale use bold movement to show how news is becoming “serialized dramas” that more closely resemble popular fiction than journalism.
This performance is part of Baldwin Wallace’s fyoo zh en ’19 and takes place at the Mainstage Theatre, Kleist Center for Art & Drama on the campus of Baldwin Wallace.
